The Department of Chemical Engineering at Jashore University of Science and Technology attempts to create an environment of educational excellence in academic, research and professional. The primary mission of the department is to foster interdisciplinary work of highest quality to address a broad spectrum of faculty expertise under a single umbrella to focus on research in Chemical engineering. The department is devoted to making this dream a reality through state-of-the-art research in various fields of process technology, nano and biotechnology, energy and biofuel, polymer, environmental, etc. Creative work carried out in the department is highly collaborative and interdisciplinary, and in several cases engages with leading institutions across the globe. The vibrant research culture is evident from the number of patents and publications that the department has produced in a short span of time. The intense interaction with several industries is a testimony to the applied nature of research carried out in the department.
The curriculum for the undergraduate program builds on the fundamental principles of thermodynamics, chemical kinetics, transport processes and exposes the students to laboratories and design tools. The unique blend of core and advanced electives equally prepares a student for the industry and higher studies. The master’s program prepares the next generation of research scholars and a heavy emphasis is given on cutting edge investigation. Our curricula are regularly updated to accommodate the latest developments and breakthroughs in various fields of Chemical Engineering, and make our graduates able to accept the emerging challenges in the research as well as industrial premises. The department offers B.Sc. (Engg.), M.Sc./M.Sc. (Engg.), M.Phil. and Ph.D. programs in chemical engineering. We strive to maintain an environment that is challenging and enables students to identify and pursue their personal and professional goals within an innovative educational and research program that is rigorous as well as flexible.
